It is said that artists magnify
those things that the larger community doesn't take notice of. Many artists find beauty or interest in the mundane, the ordinary
and the natural world. Through practice and the process of discovery they learn to "tune in" to their surroundings. The blog
links below are used in my art appreciation classes as a place to document the non-artist's process in developing this ability.
By making the commitment to see, to find beauty or interest
in something seemingly insignificant, participants become engaged in their surroundings and to some extent enlightened by
their world.
